Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy

Hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE), is a brain injury caused by a lack of oxygen-rich blood in the baby’s brain. HIE results in infant seizures, difficulty feeding, low muscle tone, limpness, organ dysfunction, and breathing problems.
